Teachers in an in-patient unit have a broad role, including academic and therapeutic work within the unit, and liaison/reintegration work beyond the unit.

Every young person who comes to unit will have a set of care plans developed specifically for them. Care plans detail the reasons they are in hospital, the plans to help them get well and stay well and finally a plan for discharge from hospital. Named nurses work with them to develop these care plans.

The unit is open seven days a week, although we encourage children to spend weekends at home with their family or carers.
