There are 2 classrooms on the ward, each with a maximum of 7 pupils who are taught by a teacher and teaching assistant. This ensures that all young people have the level of support they require.

The ward has a daily programme which consists of therapeutic activities and education. Half of each day of the programme is dedicated to education.

Good communication about the young people’s education is vital. The ward school staff are invited to every MDT meeting, including morning handovers. The head master attends management round and ward round on a weekly basis.
